Pemprov Papua beri bibit keladi untuk ketahanan pangan daerah pesisir

Jayapura (ANTARA) – Pemerintah Provinsi (Pemprov) Papua melalui Dinas Tanaman Pangan, Hortikultura dan Pangan setempat memberikan bantuan bibit keladi dan benih padi ke empat daerah pesisir sebagai bagian dari upaya meningkatkan ketahanan pangan berbasis potensi lokal.

Kepala Dinas Tanaman Pangan, Hortikultura dan Pangan Provinsi Papua Lunanka Daimboa di Jayapura, Minggu (10/8), mengatakan empat daerah pesisir tersebut yakni, Kabupaten Biak Numfor, Waropen, Kepulauan Yapen dan Supiori.

"Bantuan yang diberikan tersebut bertujuan memperkuat ketahanan pangan berbasis potensi lokal sekaligus mendorong kemandirian petani di Papua," katanya.

Menurut Lunanka, itu juga salah satu upaya dalam mendukung kelancaran Program Makan Bergizi Gratis (MBG) di wilayah-wilayah tersebut.

"Dengan benih unggul, hasil panen diharapkan lebih tinggi dan berkualitas, sehingga dapat dikonsumsi langsung maupun dipasarkan," ujar dia.

Apalagi Pemprov Papua juga menargetkan hasil produksi pangan lokal terserap melalui program makan bergizi di sekolah, sehingga memberi nilai tambah ekonomi bagi petani setempat, katanya, menjelaskan.

"Sesuai peraturan Badan Pangan Nasional 2025 di mana pangan lokal Papua tidak hanya mencakup ubi atau sagu, tetapi berbagai komoditas yang tumbuh di wilayah tersebut," katanya lagi.

Lebih lanjut, ia mengatakan bantuan yang diberikan berupa pengembangan keladi meliputi penyediaan bibit keladi, pupuk organik cair, parang, gembor, gerobak, dodos dan chainsaw mini.

"Kemudian kami juga menyerahkan penangkaran padi empat Ha meliputi penyediaan benih padi 100 kg, pestisida delapan buah, herbisida delapan liter, pupuk NPK 400 kg dan power thresher satu unit," ujar dia.
